About: Dr Subir Ghosh is a specialist in fishery science with Doctorate in Marine Science and post-graduation in Zoology and in Aquaculture Planning & Management. In a career spanning 33 years, he served the ICAR as a Fishery Scientist and then been with NABARD, specializing in Development Banking in the arena of Agriculture & Rural Development.
As a fishery scientist he has developed an alternate aquaculture technology for the Hill areas; catalogued the fish fauna of the N.E.Hill Region and worked on conservation of Himalayan Mahseers.
He has experience in agricultural finance, projects involving integrated rural development, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, food security, financial inclusion, rural infrastructure and rural innovations. He has worked for UNDP and in projects funded by SIDA and IDA.
