Small businesses in war-ravaged Afghanistan are beginning to take their first tentative steps towards normalization and are realizing the need for integrating with a globalizing neighborhood.

After more than 20 years, traders and businessmen from cities like Herat, Kandahar, Kabul and Jalalabad are spreading out to a vastly expanding Indian market. As many as 40 firms, with eight of them headed by women, have set foot in India to participate in the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF).
